Completed Projects
StrategyIdentified and developed a 70MW cogeneration joint venture between 3 international chemical manufacturers from Germany, America and France. This $150 million project has been successfully operating since 1999 in the United States. Formed total facility energy management strategy for a rubber chemicals manufacturer. FSI's recommendations resulted in a $1.2 million per year in operating savings. Developed a 20 MW cogeneration system for a major international manufacturer of urethanes and intermediates. This project saved the client $ 950,000 per year. Energy cost reduction strategies for chemical manufacturing facilities in Belgium, France, Holland and Italy. Currently developing decision-making and implementation strategy for a 12 MW cogeneration project at a domestic titanium dioxide plant. This project will save over $1 million per year. AuditEvaluative review of an integrated utility island including water, steam and electrical distribution plant supplying 1,000,000 lbs/hr of steam, and 60 MW of electricity to identify supply risks. Operating reviews of boilers for various manufacturing facilities ranging in size from 10,000 lbs/hour to 400,000 lbs/hour. FSI calculated the risk and cost benefit for upgrading options and suggested the most cost-effective improvements. Energy systems audit used to support cogeneration at a US Petroleum refinery. Corporate-wide energy audit for a chemical manufacturer and its facilities. This audit was later used to develop a corporate energy strategy. Reviewed fuel-switching opportunities at manufacturing facilities in the United States and Europe. DeregulationAssess the potential impact of deregulation on energy supply options for client facilities in Alabama, Connecticut, Illinois, Louisiana, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Texas. Developed a strategy for the managment of load profiles and power factors at a chemical plant in Louisiana in response to changing rate structures. Cost benefit and benchmarking energy supply offers from utilities and third parties for facilities in deregulating states. Developed a deregulation strategy for a chemical plant in Louisiana to evaluate the risk of alternative energy supply scenarios following deregulation. NegotiationDeveloped analyses on client's behalf to support filings with public service commissions. Developed utility negotiating strategy and provided supporting analyses for manufacturing facilities in Connecticut, Louisiana and Texas. Provide analysis of a Paper mill's energy systems to support their negotiations of a merchant electrical proposal. FuelFSI, in conjunction with its partner, Petroferm, Inc., is providing innovative fuel technologies in Asia. |
